Grandparents at the Double

John Fielding (patient and support group committee member) and his wife Susan celebrate the arrival of two GrandSons during the month of July.
John is holding Thomas Adam (born 1st July) Susan is holding Leo John George (born 15th July). In the background, their Granddaughter Tessa watches on with interest.
Tessa was also born during July. I was wondering how I was going to spend my retirement and my pension, now I know says John.

Heading For The Horizon
How Mary Le Coyte is setting sail for
the heart of life.
Mary (patient and support group member) recently set herself a challenge, having gone
through the shock of a bowel cancer diagnosis and
subsequent stoma surgery.
Not
that she initially imagined herself doing such a thing.
“Before the cancer I was a normal, busy, energetic person,” she says.
However, “the surgery left me
with a permanent colostomy,
I thought part of my
life was over.”
It’s an understandable reaction to what can be a worrying situation, but with
the support of family, friends and stoma nurses,
Mary has been able to rediscover her passion for
adventurous living.
Mary plans to join Leg 8 of Clipper 11-12, joining the team in New York next June to cross the Atlantic from west to east,
stopping in Nova Scotia, Northern Ireland and Holland before sailing into Southampton on 22 July,
Mary will tell her own story of life at sea after the race' and we will include it on the web site.

A Gentle Walk in The Country

Annie Lanigan (Chairperson of the Support Group Committe and patient) went walking in the Dolomites mountains in Italy recently with her husband Mike.

They walked and scrambled up the 2,100 metre Mount Coldai. Motto “don’t look down !”

We’ve made it !
Love the hat!!
