Visit to the new Beacon Centre
for cancer treatment at Taunton's Musgrove Park Hospital
Wednesday September 23rd.

12 members went and were shown around the wonderful new Cancer Centre in small groups, so as to cause minimum disruption to the patients who were there receiving treatment. We were all very impressed with the calm and quiet of the Centre, and delighted that these wonderful new facilities were now available to cancer patients at Musgrove. We were also grateful to the staff at the Centre for allowing us to make the visit and fitting us into their busy schedule.

"Silhouette" by Simon Brett
at the Warehouse Theatre, Brewery Lane, Ilminster
Somerset Colorectal Cancer Support Group members went to the Ilminster Warehouse Theatre to watch a
production of Silhouette by Simon Brett.
Here they are photographed with Celia Crookes, who directed the play (wearing the white shirt) and
Mike Lanigan (in the back) who played Martin Powell, the chap who got shot. (It was a murder mystery).
A good evening was had by all, as you can see by the cheery smiles.
Somerset Colorectal Cancer Support Group Summer BBQ
at Burnham on Sea.
Hilary and Dennis Peters held a successful Pig Roast in their garden on 14th June. The sun shone and a
large crowd enjoyed a delicious meal, plentiful drinks and varied
entertainment with the Old Grey Dogs Jazz Band provided musical entertainment!
Old friends met and new friends were made.
A huge thank you to Hilary and Dennis for their very generous, and
continuing, support of the Somerset Colorectal Cancer Support Group and its patients.
